Eugénie Danglars and Louise d'Armilly find their way to each other through music and poetry.
I'd wanted to write something for these two characters for so long - a pretty damn much canon f/f pairing in one of my favourite 19th century books (seriously, the only thing that remains is for Dumas to say straight out they're a couple, it's implied quite heavily enough). The prompt had many lovely directions I could have gone, but this story suggested itself to me almost at once, and I really enjoyed writing it. Many thanks to shopfront for beta-reading it despite not knowing the fandom in advance. I do think this story can be read even without knowing the book; there's so much we're not shown about the characters in the book, and I'm trying to fill the gaps here.
I didn't get around to writing any Treats, but there's always the NYR collection if I get around to any of the other prompts that sounded inspiring!
ETA: Here's a post-reveals Yuletide friending meme! I've joined it, a lengthy comment because that's what I do. I also added a few recs in the comment, but I might do a proper recs post in my journal once I've read all those fics I still really really want to read but didn't yet.
